Book Giveaway – What Books Do You Love?

We are gearing up for our first SAGE BOOK CLUB meetings this month!  The first book, Delivering Happiness is Tony Hseih’s account of how he built a culture of happiness at Zappos.com.   This book was fantastic and I could hardly put it down!  If I didn’t love my job(s) so much I’d be sending over my resume to him right now.  Tony has managed to build such a fun company for people to work at and buy from.  The book describes how he and the people of Zappos created a core ideology and how they ensure that everyone in the company embraces that ideology.  Kelly and I can’t wait to chat about it with our Sage Book Club members.

Eileen - Four Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss. I love it because it fits my mantra to live more and work less. Although I don’t and can’t literally work four hours a week, the book nspires people to think outside of the box.

September 7, 2010 - 12:35 pm

Terrica - I really do love “Let Them Eat Cake” by Pamela Danziger. It has great stories of actual luxury companies and how specific strategies work for them. With wedding planners becoming more of a luxury item, it was a great way of fine tuning my approach in bringing luxury to the masses and the classes.

September 7, 2010 - 4:12 pm

Larissa Banting - Love “Let Them Eat Cake” and also ‘Blue Ocean Strategy”. Lots of great food for thought on how to make your biz standout from the crowd.

September 7, 2010 - 5:06 pm

Erica Prewett - Love “If You Want To Walk On Water, You’ve Got To Get Out Of The Boat” by John Ortberg. Whenever I need a personal “Come to Jesus” meeting with myself, I read that.

September 7, 2010 - 10:14 pm

Holly - I really enjoyed “Hug Your Customers”, full of practical and easy to apply advice. It really nails down customer service, especially in the service industry. My second favorite is “Girl on Top”, a perfect read for businesswomen about accomplishing your goals and dreams.

Invites by Jen - Also a big fan of “Let Them Eat Cake”!

September 8, 2010 - 1:23 pm

Jen - E-Myth Revisited because it really changed my attitude towards my business. It encouraged me to take a step back and look at it in big-picture form but also to really understand the personalities/roles that are involved in running it. Biggest takeaway: how to work hard on the business instead of in it.

September 9, 2010 - 10:43 am

Renee Grande - My favorite business book is CRUSH IT! By Gary Vaynerchuk. It is a fabulously well written book that can apply to any business and show you how to cash in on your passions through the use of marketing, blogging, and good business. It is an easy read that you won’t be able to put down

September 9, 2010 - 1:17 pm

amanda howse - I loved reading :Love is the Killer Ap” what a great book! I have soooo many books I need to read (biz-wise) as I am addicted to them!!! LOL
