I’ve recently started going to a yoga class at 4pm every day. This means that I have to close up my work, and start getting ready to leave by about 3:15. It really forces me to close up shop by that time. And when I get home, if there is REAL work to be done, I can sit down and do it, but after 90 minutes of yoga it seems to be easier to put things in perspective!

Thanks for this reminder, Michelle! I too sometimes spend unproductive hours in front of the computer – time that could be spent relaxing and getting my brain ready for the next creative project.

I agree with a lot of what you have written. Sometimes I don’t need to work a full 8 hrs in a day to get things accomplished. But I may stay in my office for 8 hrs, why? We do control our time and have a flexibility that others may not and yet we don’t fully take advantage of that luxury. These are questions I have been asking myself for sometime and I am happy to say that I am working on being ok with just working 4 hours when it’s all I really need to do.
