Sage Declaration No. 11 ::: Define Your Values

What characteristics define you?  What attributes define your business?  What is inside your core?  What is it that you truly believe?  What is it that you value in yourself as a person and yourself as a business owner?

Define Your Values

What are your values?  Define 3-10 characteristics that you pride yourself upon. Define what it is that makes you.  Define what it is that lies at the soul of your business.  These values should guide you in every decision you make.  These values should act as the backbone to your mission statement.  They should guide how you treat people.  They should define your product and your service.

Sage Wedding Pros’ Values

Kelly and I recently had a chance to spend a few days making plans for Sage Wedding Pros.  We had a “corporate retreat” in which we worked on our business plan, set goals, and strategized.  One of the things we did was define our values.  These are Sage Wedding Pros’  Values:

  • integrity
  • quality
  • strength
  • collaboration
  • kindness
  • honesty
  • balance
  • consistency

We are committed to these values in everything we do.

Heather Gardner - This is SO GREAT! I love seeing “value” statements, even if they’re not in the tradititional form. I created my own value statement a few months back. People will know what I and the business stand for. Honesty, Spirit of Partnership, & Committment. Sort of our “3-legged stool” for support.

Our value statement is the compass for how we execute our service. Service is not just a “process” to be delivered – it’s about creating an experience from start to end. The only way to do that is by giving yourself an honest “gut check” and be real about it – and staying true to what you feel is important i.e. your value statement.

Best,
Heather
