Turning Adversity Into Opportunity

Does it seem that there are people that have opportunity land in their lap time and time again?  It seems like good fortune seems to find them every step of the way.  I used to think this way about life and people and opportunity.  And then I realized something…

Everyone has the ability to create opportunity.

Life is all about perspective.  Things can look soooo very different to two different people.  Remember this optical illusion?  Can you see the pretty young lady?  Can you see the old haggard woman?

You can actually see either… depending on your perspective and how hard you look.

Once I came to the conclusion that I could create opportunity, I began to see something else…

There is opportunity in adversity.

Life will present many challenges to you, both personally and professionally.  Some of these challenges may be difficult crosses to bear or painful battles.  Are you going to muck through those challenges in survival mode, or are you going to seek opportunity?

Every thing put in your way – good and bad – offers an opportunity for betterment, for improvement, for growth, for knowledge.  It is up to you to create opportunity.  During your most trying times, it will involve a lot of heart, soul, and creativity… but, you can make something good out of these trying times if you just put your mind to it.

So… Next time you are faced with something seemingly difficult, stop and say…

This is not a problem.  This is an opportunity.

Then… reflect… create… find… and make the opportunity.
