Just be you.
I see this too much in this industry: people trying to be something they are not. I’m not talking about fakers or copycats. What I’m talking about is being comfortable in your own skin… and showing that skin in your own product or service.
A wedding is VERY personal. A client engaging in business with you wants the person. You could be selling peanut butter on a spoon and if you are lovely and kind and let them see your true colors, they will most likely buy from you.
Do you know what so many people tell me when they sit down to meet with me? “Michelle, I am an accountant too!” They read my bio on my website… the one about wanting to be free from the 8-columns and the adding machines. Something within that bio talks to their human experience. Now, my clients aren’t all accountants… some of them are Microsoft programmers… others are paper fanatics. But, they have all embraced a personal connection with me long before we’ve even met.
So, think about how you market your brand… is there anything of YOU in there?
Be you… and make sure your product or service has YOU in it too.
