The Simple Plan Update ::: What You’ll be DOING at the Workshop

Kelly and I are getting really excited for The Simple Plan this November.  We have some AMAZING professionals coming from all parts of the country.  I’m really impressed with the range of professions (planners, photographers, florists, invitations designers) and the varied histories in business (startups, newbies, growers, and veterans).  The collaboration on this is going to be awesome.  Yes, more heads are better than one!

We wanted to share with you what we’ll be doing in our 2 days.  In a nutshell, we will be writing a business plan for your wedding business.

The Simple Plan will be comprised of the following elements:

• Introduction on the Company (your biz)
• Marketing Plan (how to sell your biz)
• Operational Plan (what is your biz)
• Financial Plan (the numbers of your biz)

You will be writing these 4 components of your business plan.  It will be fun, it will be yummy, and it will be work – but it will be FUN.  And yummy.  Oh yeah – pretty… it will be pretty.

Blair & Christy from Junebug Weddings, with their super savvy smarty-pants sass, will be presenting the Marketing Plan.  They are perfect for this because they were photographers in the industry not so long ago, so they know the professionals’ point-of-view.  And, these days, they are one of the leading online magazines for wedding industry.  I am full of anticipation for their presentation!

Wendy Robinson from Aspire to Plan, an awesome educator and numbers maven, will be presenting the Financial Plan.  Wendy not only has her own Wedding Planning business, Sacred Moment Weddings, but also coaches new wedding planners on how to be a wedding pro (Aspire to Plan).  She has a long history of accounting and is ready to get into the nitty-gritty of the numbers.  Yes – we here you calling, wedding pros!  You need help with the numbers!

Kelly and I are all about the Company and its Operations… all the gory details of your biz!  We will slice it and dice it.  Well, maybe you’ll slice it; we’ll dice it – or vice versa – you get the point!
