I read your post to my husband and he smirked, he smirked because I too had grand visions and dreams of what my life would be like when I went into business for myself and even more when I quit my full-time job 3 years ago. I thought I'd have more time for myself, my family and for traveling around the world. Needless to say I've fallen short of these dreams, but it doesn't mean I am not content with my life, because I am. I am very grateful for my family who has supported my visions and dreams from day one and without them, there would be no MB, so while I have yet to find the perfect balance I continue to stay happy, positive and optimistic of what the future holds. While I've definitely learned that there's a lot more work involved when you're a small business owner than I first thought, I wouldn't trade it for the world. After working in various corporate positions- even within this industry- I've realized that nothing can compare to the flexibility & limitless creativity that comes with being your own boss. It is so true!!! I had no idea how much work a photography business was going to be! I can definitely say that I probably work more than those with a 9-5, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
