Sage Declaration No. 5 ::: Define your Vision

We often get so caught up in the daily tasks of keeping our business going that we don’t stop to think about the big picture.  Many of us fail to create a vision for our company.  This vision is important not only to the future of our business, but to our niche and branding.  Take a few moments each week to ask yourself:

  • What is the vision I have for my business?
  • What do I want to do with this business?
  • What does my company look like to others?
  • What do I want my business to achieve?
  • How do I want to work with others, internally and externally?
  • How will I work with others to achieve my vision?
  • What is my goal for this year?
  • What is my goal for 2, 5, 10 years from now?

Dina Eisenberg - Thanks so much for this list. Creating my vision for my newest compnay from this list really gave me the opportunity to consciously think about what I’m actually creating, as opposed to going where fate or the market pushes me. That’s so emppowering (and a little scary when you realize you have a BIG dream!)

What I would add to the list is a question about what the business is going to do FOR YOU? Personally and your lifestyle. Because I know and love the changes I want my business to support in my life, I’ve been able to reach outside my comfort zone, like when selling, or focus keenly, like when examining site stats, even when I haven’t really wanted to. It works for me.

Not to be a nudge, but when are you bringing the fab Simple Plan to the east coast?
