Sage Declaration No. 4 ::: Work ON your business

Oh yes… we know all about you, the small business owner.  You answer the phone.  You work with the client.  You answer the email.  You clean the office.  Your organize the files.  You write the blog.  You design the gorgeous wedding-thingy-ma-jiggers.  And you do it well.  You do it efficiently.  (You might be doing it all hours of the night – and you are letting us know on Twitter.)  We love you for all those things.  Your clients love you for all those things.

You work on all things IN your business.
Are YOU working ON your business?

There is a fine line between working IN your business and working ON your business.  It gets even more confusing as the 24 hour day becomes the 25 hour day.

I urge you… for the sake of your health and happiness… and for the health and happiness of your business… Make time to work ON your business.  Make time to think about your goals.  Make time to plan.  Make time to analyze and strategize.  Set at least 2 hours every week where you are solely working ON the biz and not IN the biz.

If you fail to do this, you could soon be working OUT of business.
